NYBG Colorectal is pleased to be offering the most advanced surgical technology available to its patients. This includes robotic colorectal surgery, which offers an impressively advanced level of precision when performing colorectal procedures.
How Does Robotic Colorectal Surgery Work?
In addition to performing minimally invasive colorectal surgery, our team also utilizes robotic assistance to make your procedure that much more accurate, while still offering the reduced recovery time and improved postoperative pain that comes along with the laparoscopic approach.
Robotic surgery will see your surgeon making a series of very small incisions around the treatment area, through which a very small camera that records video in high-definition 3D will be fed. Incision placement, scarring, and other key details will be thoroughly discussed with you before your procedure.
While your procedure is performed, the surgeon will be operating the robotic instruments through a console that is stationed nearby. As they work, the robotic instruments will closely mirror your surgeon’s hand movements, adding precision and a level of technical control that would otherwise remain impossible.
